A major cyber fraud racket involving a fake government-like website has been exposed by Cyber PS Central District after a detailed technical investigation. Fraudsters allegedly created and operated a fake portal, “parivahan.online,” intentionally designed to closely resemble an official government transport services website in order to deceive innocent citizens.
The case came to light after a complainant searched on Google for a vehicle number plate booking service and mistakenly trusted the fraudulent website as genuine. After entering vehicle details, the victim made an online payment of ₹1,099, following which the fraudsters repeatedly demanded additional money under different pretexts. Suspecting fraud, the complainant immediately reported the matter on the NCRP Portal.
Following the complaint, FIR No. 64/2025 dated 24.06.2025 under Section 318(4) BNS was registered at PS Cyber Central and an intensive investigation was launched. A dedicated police team carried out technical analysis, digital surveillance, IP log examination, domain verification, and financial transaction scrutiny.
The investigation revealed that the fake website was specifically developed to imitate authentic government portals and gain the trust of users seeking legitimate online services. Technical and financial investigation established links between the fraudulent operation and accused Anshul Yadav of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, whose alleged involvement surfaced through mobile number verification, administrative access logs, and financial transaction trails.
Further findings indicated that fraud proceeds were routed through multiple beneficiary bank accounts before being transferred to the accused, establishing a direct financial connection. Investigators also discovered that multiple complaints from different states were linked to the same fake websites and associated bank accounts, suggesting a larger interstate cyber fraud network.
