Today, we are privileged to have a conversation with Padma Shri Dr. (Prof.) Pramod Kumar Julka, who has over four decades of experience in cancer treatment and research. Presently, Dr. Julka is the Vice-Chairman of the Max Institute of Cancer Care. Prior to this, he served as Professor of Oncology and Dean (Academics) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Dr. Julka’s name is synonymous with awards and recognition. He is the recipient of the prestigious OISCA Foundation Award (a UN Award in 2001) for his contributions to cancer research and treatment. He was also awarded a WHO Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA. In 1995, he received the Indian Medical Association Gold Medal for his work in cancer prevention. His accomplishments have been featured in the book “Man of Achievements.” He has also been honoured with the MMACOS Gems Award for outstanding achievements in the field of medicine, the Times Healthcare Award (2017) in the Legend category, the IMA Eminent Teacher Award (2018), and most recently, “The Good Doctor Award” from the World Health Congress.
The topic of today's discussion is breast cancer and its treatment - an area where Dr. Julka has made a profound impact, having personally treated over 20,000 breast cancer patients during his distinguished career. We are honoured to learn from his deep insights and vast clinical experience.
