Beware of ATM Card Swapping Fraud
Changing ATM cards; Your actual ATM card is changed out with a fake one in this scam, and money is then taken out. They typically target unguarded ATMs in low-income regions, and even malfunctioning ATMs.
Fraudsters wait for their victim before accompanying them into the ATM cubicle. The victim writes down the PIN number as they complete the transaction. In the event that the transaction is unsuccessful, scammers offer to assist in finishing it. Without the victim's knowledge, they manage to switch out the legitimate ATM card for a fake one.
