Bhagavad Gita: The Manual of Life, Special Episode on JanmasthamiYou need a browser with JavaScript!
In this episode, Amog Lilla Dasji discusses the divine appearance of God.
In Adhyay 4, Shloka 9, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that one who knows the transcendental truth of his birth and activities doesn't have to accept birth again after relinquishing one's body but gets to join his divine form. Lord says that his birth and activities both are divine. We humans take birth as per our Karma, and if we are born, we will die. But God is not born that way, and he is eternal. Lord comes to the material world but not in a material way.
In Adhyay 9, Shloka 11, Lord Krishna explains why some foolish people fail to worship Him as the Supreme Lord. The Supreme Lord's body is spiritual; it is eternal, has the transcendental knowledge and provides unending bliss, but the ignorant doesn't know His supreme position and the fools deride Him because Lord appears in a human form to interact and reciprocate with His devotees to please them.
In Adhyay 4, Shloka 7, 8, Lord Krishna says that He manifests Himself, whenever there is a decline in righteousness and wherever there is a predominance of unrighteousness. Lord Krishna says he incarnates himself for the protection of the righteous and virtuous and the annihilation of the sinful and evil, millennium after millennium.
Amog Lilla Dasji concludes the episode by saying that the festival of Janmashtami is a celebration of our gratitude towards Lord Krishna.
He urged people to pray to Lord to descend in their hearts as he did 5,000 years.
The event of Janmashtami will be celebrated at the ISKCON Temple, Dwarka, on August 25, 2016. He invited all devotees of Supreme Lord to celebrate Janmashtami at their nearby ISKCON temple with great pomp and show.
Special thanks to ISKCON Temple Dwarka and Shri Amog Lila Das ji.
