Lust ~ The Murderer Of Knowledge
In this episode, Amog Lilla Dasji discusses how lust is the murderer of knowledge.
In Shloka 40, Lord Krishna reveals the locations of where lust lives. Desire arises from contact with sense objects by seeing, hearing, touching, etc. which agitates the mind and when the mind completely overpowers the intellect, a person's discriminatory faculties go for a toss, and mind and intellect become a slave of the senses.
In Shloka 41, Lord Krishna asks Arjuna to bring the senses under control and destroy lust or any trace of it whatsoever. He says lust is a sin and it destroys knowledge and realisation.
In Shloka 42, Lord Krishna says that one's senses are superior, but one's mind is more superior than the senses, and one's intellect is most superior than the mind. He says one's individual consciousness is stronger than one's intellect. In Shloka 43, Lord Krishna states that as one's consciousness is stronger than intellect, one's intellect is stronger than the mind, and one's mind is superior to senses, so one must steady the mind by self-realisation and conquer the insatiable enemy called lust.
