In this episode, three girl students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Sector 3, Dwarka, talk about how inclusive education can make a difference in the life of a differently abled child.
Students of Class 12 - Aanchal and Nissandru - tell us how their classmate Beauty, a visually challenged child, manages herself in the school. "I had completed my Class 10 from private. When I joined school a little late, the teachers ensured that I could revise the topics and catch up with the missed lessons," says Beauty.
Her classmate Aanchal and Nissandru are all praises for Beauty and her talents. She can make friends with ease, walk properly and even tell who is who even though she can't see, they say. "The school makes sure that such kids are given extra attention by teachers, get books in braille and complete their syllabus on time before the exam. Beauty gets the facility of a recorder to sit for the exam," says Aanchal.
Beauty's limitations as a differently-abled student have prompted her two friends to start an NGO after completing their studies.
